Duties and Responsibilities

Network Design and Implementation

  • Design and implement IP networks to meet organizational needs.
  • Configure routers, switches, OLTs, and DWDM equipment to handle network traffic effectively.

Network Management and Monitoring

  • Monitor network performance to ensure 99.99% uptime.
  • Proactively identify and resolve network issues using monitoring tools.

Troubleshooting and Support

  • Diagnose and address network problems and bottlenecks to meet the 99.99% SLA.
  • Ensure client satisfaction through effective service support.

Security and Compliance

  • Implement robust network security measures to safeguard equipment and client traffic.
  • Ensure adherence to relevant standards and regulatory compliance.

Network Optimization

  • Conduct traffic analysis to optimize network performance.
  • Implement best practices in routing to deliver high-quality service.

Documentation and Reporting

  • Maintain detailed documentation on network configurations and procedures.
  • Provide daily, weekly, and monthly performance reports.

Continuous Learning and Improvement

  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends through certifications and training.

Collaboration and Coordination

  • Work closely with the NOC, IT, and security teams to maintain seamless operations.
  • Coordinate with vendors and service providers to prevent service disruptions.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in similar roles.

Essential Requirements

  • Strong work ethic.
  • CCNP or JNCIS certification.
  • Proficiency in IP/MPLS routing, switching, Linux, or scripting languages.
  • Comprehensive understanding of GPON networks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage Level 2 escalations from the NOC.
  • Ensure network uptime across all Points of Presence (POPs).
  • Maintain accurate documentation and reports.
  • Design solutions to support commercial teams.
  • Build and maintain relationships with vendors.
